Sidney Richard Percy

Sidney Richard Percy (British, 1822 - 1886) came from a family of painters of which Sidney is perhaps the most prominent due in certain measure to his royal patronage from Prince Albert. He is best known for his broad sweeping landscapes across the British isles, most notably in England, Scotland, and Wales, often punctuated with grazing cows or gypsies. His popularity waned in his later years as impressionism displaced traditional modes and styles of representation. Nevertheless, his paintings are still in demand.
