Minton
Minton was a firm established by Thomas Minton in 1793, engaged to sell porcelain and ceramic tablewares. Its stature and size grew throughout the 19th century, making it one of the most important Staffordshire potteries. Minton underwent numerous name changes over the decades, but it eventually became known as Mintons in 1873.
The firm was recognized as a leader in high quality ceramics with such categories as Parian, Majolica, encaustic, Art Nouveau, Secessionist and other styles earning it praise and recognition all of which are highly collectible today. It was absorbed by the Doulton Group at which point its demise is murky. Wikipedia reports its extinction date as 2005.
