Hubert Friedrich Wackerman

Hubert Friedrich Wackerman (b. 1945) is a German by birth who immigrated to Canada and then United States where he lived with and studied North American Indians as an artist. His extensive studies in West Germany covered many art forms such as watercolors, drawing, lettering, photography, silk screening, and other allied arts.

He is most famous for his Native American paintings, having earned the trust of his subjects to paint them in intimate and idealized contexts. His works have achieved international acclaim, even from the US State Department from whose website we have drawn our very brief biography.
